Since 4th December 2020, the topping-out wreath has been flying high above the new intelligent office building of DSTRCT.Berlin. In a ceremony that was kept small due to the pandemic, we celebrated the topping-out ceremony for our first German project DSTRCT.Berlin.
For HB Reavis, the first topping-out ceremony in Germany is an important day. We are very pleased that despite the current circumstances, with the help of our team, the first German project is going according to plan. We would have loved to have been able to celebrate the topping-out ceremony with our partners and employees on a larger scale. Thus it was a small ceremony attended by only a few people. I would like to thank our reliable and committed partners in planning and administration, on the commercial level and in construction for their consistently great and inspiring cooperation. Together, we are also looking forward to a constructive partnership for the time ahead. We are confident that we will be able to hand over creative, motivating and vitalizing offices to our tenants next year.

Added value digitalization: Workspace-as-a-service
With DSTRCT.Berlin, an innovative office ensemble is being created on the site of a former abattoir in the Berlin district of Prenzlauer Berg, which is designed to be fit for the future. It is primarily geared to the needs of people and focuses on their health, well-being and productivity. Accordingly, the interest in our remaining available space is high among companies for whom the health and satisfaction of their employees is particularly important. With the help of our Origameo, the office space can not only be flexibly planned and designed, but is also equipped with the latest digital technology. Our (smart building) solutions from Symbiosy also provide informative data on the current state of space utilization and enable people to optimally adapt their working environment to their needs.
During the pandemic, important information is provided. For example, with the help of indoor positioning technology it is possible to identify who has interacted with whom. The number of people who could have been infected in the event of a positively tested employee can be determined and narrowed down. Upon completion DSTRCT.Berlin will have the WELL Building Standard Gold and Wired Score Platinum certification standard in addition to DGNB Gold.
The construction of the new office building of DSTRCT.Berlin, which will have approximately 40,000 square meters of rental space, was started in early 2019. The internet companies STRATO and IONOS, which will occupy almost half the space, have already been confirmed as tenants. The listed halls on Landsberger Allee will be renovated and refurbished. In addition to innovative office and conference space, attractive indoor and outdoor catering facilities are planned.
