On June 21, 2024, the time had finally come: the DSTRCT took part for the very first time in the legendary Fête de la Musique, where amateur and professional musicians perform free of charge in the field of music in public spaces, and it was a complete success! The DSTRCT campus grounds were transformed into an open-air stage creating a fantastic festival feeling
The weather initially tried to throw a spanner in the works – thick rain clouds and showers threatened to ruin the event. But then the sun shone over the campus and suddenly the weather was perfect for an outdoor festival.
The grounds filled up with curious visitors early in the afternoon. The event attracted not only the tenants of DSTRCT, but also many music lovers from all over Berlin. It was a colorful, cheerful get-together that showed how music can bring people together. The atmosphere was exuberant, and you could feel that everyone was enjoying the event to the full.
The stage, which was set up in the heart of the campus, was made available to the artists free of charge – including the necessary technology. A huge plus for the musicians, who were able to concentrate fully on their performance Whether rock, indie or electronic sounds – there was something for everyone.
And what would a summer festival be without good food? Luckily, our resident food truck was on hand to provide guests with juicy burgers, crispy fries and everything their hearts could desire. Those who were thirsty could get cool beer and other refreshments from the drinks truck. The smell of fresh, delicious food and the sound of music created the perfect atmosphere.
At the end of the day, everyone agreed that the Fête de la Musique at DSTRCT was a complete success and will hopefully become a permanent tradition in the years to come.
